A few Security tips for domestic properties

1. Consider changing all outside door locks when moving into a new home
2. Ensure all external doors have insurance approved locks
3. Wooden doors should have three points of locking, top, middle and bottom
4. French windows/patio door - fit appropriate locks to top and bottom of doors
5 Fit window locks to ground floor and upstairs windows
6. DON'T leave door/car keys visible/next to letter boxes
7. Ensure all windows and doors are locked when you leave the property
8. DON'T leave ladders lying around in the garden
9. Keep your shed locked at all times. Burglars will use your tools to gain access into your property
10. Fit extra security devices to UPVC doors.
11. When out of your property in the evenings, leave lights on and preferably a television.
12. DON'T leave curtains or blinds drawn during the day.
13. Cut your lawn before you go away for extended periods.
14. If you have an intruder alarm, ensure it is activated when you leave the property.
